About Our Wisdom Tooth Removal Service
Wisdom teeth — the third molars that typically erupt between ages 17 and 25 — are the most commonly removed teeth in dentistry. Most adults lack sufficient space in their jaws to accommodate wisdom teeth properly, causing them to become impacted. Impacted wisdom teeth cause a range of problems, from persistent pain and repeated infections to damage to neighboring teeth and the development of cysts in the jawbone.
We evaluate each patient individually based on X-rays and clinical examination to determine whether wisdom teeth are causing current problems or pose significant risk of future complications. When removal is indicated, we perform the procedure using effective local anesthesia and offering nitrous oxide and sedation options for patients who prefer to be more relaxed.
The surgical procedure involves making a small incision in the gum tissue, removing any bone blocking access, and extracting the tooth — sometimes in sections. Recovery typically involves 2–3 days of rest and soft foods, with most patients returning to normal activity by day four or five.
We provide comprehensive aftercare guidance including diet, activity, medication, and how to keep the surgical sites clean while healing.
